Italian Style Rigatoni

Italian Style Rigatoni
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
3/4 cup (4 ounce can) mushrooms, drained 1/2 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon oregano
3 1/2 cups (two 14-1/2 ounce cans) whole tomatoes, chopped
2/3 cup (6-ounce can) tomato paste
1 package (6-ounces) rigatoni, uncooked

In large skillet, brown ground beef until almost done. Add mushrooms, onion and garlic and cook until onion is tender but not brown. Drain off excess fat. Stir in remaining ingredients except rigatoni; bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer covered, stirring occasionally for 30 minutes. Cook rigatoni according to package directions; drain. Stir into meat sauce before serving. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
