Protect your kids online..

Now that kids are on the Internet more than ever, there has been a huge increase in the amount of children being solicited online.. Good to know that there are reporting mechanism out there like Cybertipline to protect our most precious resources from online predators...

I think I read somewhere recently that myspace is giving investigators access to the whole entire site so that they can keep tabs on all sexual predators there. I wonder if that's going to be even slightly effective, though.

Having a teenager and 2 younger kids in the house, I don't think I can depend on software or a website to "do it all" in terms of protecting my kids. My husband and I have to do a lot of it ourselves.

We refuse to allow our kids to have computers in their rooms. The computers are in very public areas, and we can and do check the "history" of the sites they visit. We can also look over their shoulders at any time.

My teenage son said that he thinks Myspace is getting less popular among kids--because it is so popular! So we'll have to see where they all go from here...
