First Time away from our baby?

Hey everyone! We are leaving our 1yr old overnight with someone else for the 1st time. What are some other experiences and memories?

My husband and I are celebrating our fourth anniversary . We are heading to at Atlanta where we will be staying at a hotel in Buckhead. Justice, our 1 yr old will be staying overnight with my mom. This will be the first time we leave him with anyone overnight.

My husband is worried about leaving Justice. I just hope he will focus on us for the next day. We haven't had any real alone time in about a yr.

Wish us the best!

It's scary and exciting all in one LOL and more so for the first born.
My son was 6mths when he first slept over at his grandmas house (my mums) and the first thing I did was go home and think, what will I do with my time this doesn't seem right, and I'd look at the time and think I should be doing this, this, or this now. But after coffee and our feet up we thought for the first time of doing something spur of the moment, not planned and went out to dinner. I did have to ring my mum at night before bed to have a clear head that all was right, and I slept well. I did wake up early in the morning as usual but I got to read the sunday paper with my breakfast all in 1 go, no stopping and starting. Heaven LOL

It's a weird feeling that first night, but it's your mom, not a babysitter, so I'm sure there's nothing to worry about. You'll get used to it, and soon it won't feel so strange anymore. Soon, in fact, you'll really be looking forward to time with just you and your dh.
