Question Spray-On Tans

Has anyone gotten a spray-on tan yet?

Im so interested in this because I have really white skin and this would help me to look like I have a tan without using the sun's damaging rays.

Do you get an even, all-over look with it? How long does it last before you need a touch-up?

What the cost? Does it look real?

HHMMM....so many questions!

My DD got what they call a Mystic Tan two years ago this month!

She was walking in my niece's wedding. All of the attendants were tanning because their dresses were either strapless or had spaghetti straps (they got to choose).

DD is a fair skinned, blue-eyed. natural blonde. That combined with the fact that her Dad passed away from melanoma prohibits her from tanning...even in a tanning salon.

The cost, at that time, was $ 25.00 per session. It did look very natural. In a way, she looked "healthier" with that extra color! It was only guaranteed to last 7-10 days.

I thought that was kind of expensive for regular every day stuff but was okay with paying for the special occasion.

Wow, that is kinda expensive to only last that long.

My husband and I agree with you on real sun tanning---it is just too dangerous.

I just feel out of place with my pale white body when out in public.

Here in the south it is just too hot to get out and tan. You feel like you are going to melt. I like to get out and sit in the sun for about 10 minutes. I heard that you really need to get some sun for vitamine D to prevent osteoporosis.

The spray tans are very popular here. I have not had it done but almost everyone I know does it. It looks really good and seems to last about 2 weeks and runs $15-$25 here.

Spray on tan

I, too, am lily white. I don't mind the white face and arms, but the legs are yuk. I have tried both spray and lotion tans. They are very hard to apply without streaks. Getting the stuff on even is something else. Also, it gives your skin more an orange hue than a tan one. Any help here?

I have been doing Mystic Tan for a couple summers now. I really like it- seems like they have refined the system more and more and the "tan" you get is more even and natural looking than it was in the early days of Mystic Tan.

I too am a pale blonde, and doing the spray tan has really made me happier about my appearance in the summer. Too bad we are such media victims, but I guess I have been affected by years of ridicule. I feel that I look better with a tan, and to me, even at my advanced age of 48, it's worth the money.

You can get package deals up here (Ohio), I think I paid $95 for 5 sessions. Once a week, or every 5 days, would be optimal, but I tend to go every two weeks or before an "event". I would go even two days before your event just to make sure your tan is even, especially if it is your first time.

I encourage everyone who wants a safe tan to try it, but beware, you may acquire an expensive habit !

I've never done that but I've seen them on tv. $125 per session and must be touched up every week to ten days! Kind of expensive. Don't know if I would do that!

The spray tans that you get at a tanning salon do not streak or look orange like the self tanning stuff you apply at home. They are readily available here at most tanning salons.
