I've not seen cheese 'crumble' over here, sounds like leftovers that broke off lol

If you buy pre grated cheese it's 1/3 more $ than the block and as I said the food processor does the work

One thing that does not freeze well to me is cheese. The taste was so different when I tried it later. gross.

I wonder if it's specific cheeses because I always freeze parmesan, cheddar and tasty cheese, as grated, and it defrosts fine, no flavour change. I wouldn't freeze slices or a block as it crumbles.
And I understand not all cheese can be frozen blue cheese, camembert, brie etc

I freeze all my shredded cheeses that I use for cooking with, and blocks of cheese that I will grate myself for cooking. The blocks don't even need a grater as they crumble very easy if been frozen and then thawed. Since all the cheese I freeze becomes used in a recipe could be why we don't notice any taste change. I never freeze any sliced cheeses or any that will be used for sandwiches.
