Boy I miss being able to plan meals so much ahead! Love all your ideas though! Since we don't live a "scheduled" day to day any longer I never know where we will be or when we will even be home. So I pretty much have to go day to day. I really enjoy the days when I can be at home though and have the time to cook a meal ahead of time instead of my usual "rush" to fix supper!

I have never scheduled what days I'll fix what but plan about 20 meals a month based on what we have on hand and picking up good sales. That gets us through the month with leftovers and the occational night away from home.

I do have some quick night meals planned so on those crazy days I know what we have to fix. I also always have a couple crockpot meals and soups/stews on the list that I can fix in the morning and not have to think about dinner until just before dinner.

I think we are on the same page Roberta concerning how to address meals.
I just saw an interesting tip on the tv. At an Australian restaurant that makes these meat pies, they simmer the ground meat for six hours, as the fat rises to the top, that fat is skimmed off and then used in the pastry for the crust to add more flavor. The top crust is a flaky pastry crust, the bottom is a usual pie crust. Interesting, use every bit of the animal 'even the squeal.'
