I took one small box of stuff out of the craft (and junk) room to the thrift store. It wasn't much but I guess a little at a time will make a difference.

I like the idea of putting all the computer software in one CD binder. I still haven't decided about the DVD's though. I have some in a binders and some still in their original cases that I am reluctant to get rid of.

Apricot, I didn't get rid of my dvd cases when I put the dvd's in their binders. The cases are stored in a large covered bin in the basement. I didn't have the heart to get rid of them yet.

Dh and I are getting together a lot of things to donate to Goodwill this weekend which is nice.

I have to organise the bookshelves, keep a few but give quite a few away I think, mostly the boys books they've way grown out of.

It seems a lot of us are cleaning out books.

Sammi, We don't have a basement or an attic for storage, which is good because dh would probably have them stuffed with junk if we did. There is no room left in the garage either.

I had an office-type chair with a broken back stashed in the craft room and gave it to a lady on freecycle. She said it was better than the one she had and was thrilled to get it.

We adopted our kids in 2002. It would be nice to get their rooms painted, don't you think?

Hope no one minds - this is a test - I am trying to get the avatar straightened out!

By the way, Freecycle is the greatest thing since sliced bread--we have passed along many things we are finished with, and have gotten a number of useful items as well. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Lewcas, I am also a fan of freecycle.

Love your quote, BTW!

Apricot, we don't have an attic but we do have a basement and believe me, it is over run with boxes of books (our bedroom too!)

I actually cleaned out our whole shed yesterday. swept it out, and put away all the summer things (which was on my "to do" list). The lawn also got mowed and now dh and I are raking it. We also took a huge load of stuff to the dump and have another load to go. Woohoo! It feels so good to get rid of things. Next weekend a living room chair I do not want is going to our cottage at the island and I had sent another chair there a few weeks ago. I still have so much more cleaning and organizing to do but that's a start.
