I put the laundrey ones down in a small basket on the shelf. The bathroom ones I put in plastic boxes. We use them a lot for camping and scouting trips.

I have the shoebox size plastic totes in my bathroom closet. One has soap and shampoos, another first aid supplies, another suntan lotions, etc. They are labeled and this way even the kids can find the items they are looking for easy and don't have to sort thru bottles. If only a small amount of something then it is in a small stacking plastic basket. I like the idea of the pencil boxes though as they can be closed.

The pencil box idea is a good one.

I have some old baby wipe boxes that would be good for this purpose too. They stay closed very well.

I might take the best of all the ideas and buy some clear plastic lidded shoebox sized containers and put the samples in those.

I think if I went through the house I could come up with some of those free zippered pouches and could make up some nice kits like Miss R described "hospitality baskets" perhaps for our local women's shelter.

MrsR, what a wonderful basket idea..and what a blessing you are to people in need!

Ellen, if you have any flat spot in your bathroom, you can hang the shower organizer there. It is 9.5"x40" long. (9pockets)
I have 2 windows(40" wise) in my bathroom/laundry room. So my wall space is I use the back of the door..I did the basket thing for awhile, but it was hard to see what was in the whole thing...everything went to the bottom! hee hee

I do have one door left without something hanging on it. My gf uses a clear shoe organizer for all her dds hair, skin, and makeup bottles. That way the countertops stay clear. Only I can see that since we mostly all wear glasses and also share the bathrooms that someone is going to get bonked by an opening door at some point!

DH was complaining about my shoe bag putting so much stress on the door hinges that they are sagging...I don't know...

I tend not to use the samples that I receive, but many women's shelters love to receive these items. There is a battered-women's shelter not too far from where I live that collects samples to give to their clients. The shelter tries to get local cosmetic companies (such as Merle Norman) to donate samples and out-of-season items. The shelter runs occupational training for women, so they collect business suits as well as cosmetics and toiletries to help the ladies feel more confident when they are ready to job search.

I guess I don't get as many samples. I put ones I use in my travel kit so it is ready. I have a hospitality basket for guests with things that they might need. I send little treats to my dkids & dgd when I send packages about every couple months or with a card to a friend. I keep samples in a box in a drawer with gifts. When I was teaching, I kept those suitable for the treasure box for rewards.

I have one drawer in my bathroom that is where all the samples go. Makes it convenient for guests and us. Once the drawer is full I take a few things out and DH and I use those before we open a "new" something to use. Keeps them handy so they aren't forgotten.

Nice thread!! I like all the diff ideas!
I do some of them myself.
Like some of the smaples I will out riught out to be used and the othes I like to put in the drawer in the bathroom. Some things I have under the counter in one of them bags you get your bath sets in *like calgon or caress or any set that comes in the plastic bag!* I have them under the counter!

But there are some really good things to do!

I also put some in a smaller plastic bag * i think trial size stuff was in it before* and I put them in our swimming bag and in our car too.

I like to have them when I go places and if I already have the lil bag made up I dont have to worry about it and you dont have to worry if you forget it and dont have to tote around a big bottle.
