vow renewal party

IF I could run away today and hide for a week I would.

The Pastor seems to have forgotten us. Great friend huh? I am not surprised either. I am taking this as a sign from God to use someone else. Dh and I will decide tonight. Very few are responding to the RSVP. I will cook for 50 and I bet have lots of leftovers. Who knows?

The menu is:

jiffy burgers with mustard sauce ( think Maid Rite)

fresh green beans with new potatoes
pasta salad
veggie tray with crackers and dip

my celebration cake, four layers
petite fours
mints (?)

iced plain tea
lemonde
two other types of iced tea

The arbor is done except for the lining. Will do that on Sat. The centerpieces need to be poly'ed. Dh cut out holes for tea lights in 2 x 4s. 84 holes in all. Guess what year we were married in? Yep, 84! Does that give you goosebumps?

I will shop on Friday morning. Bake the choc cakes Frid too maybe..... should do it earlier in the week. Petite fours I can make and store until Sat.

If college friends can't come until Sat then I will enjoy the time I have with my kids. They are really having a good time helping.

Oh, instead of a guest book, I will have journal sheets for guests to write us a note. Then scrapbook it all together later.

Sounds like you have a lovely time planned.

Don't allow yourself to feel bad about anything. Do what you have to do (as far a the preacher is concerned) to keep things running smoothly.

If someone offers to help, by all means, let them help!

Relax and enjoy your day.

I hope that you take lots of pictures. I can't wait to see them!

I wish people were offering to help! I could use a little.

I have to charge the batteries for the camera. And check to see if I have film for the other camera.

Connie, You are sounding stressed. Are there any family members or friends that could lend you a hand?

Yep I am getting stresed. A freind offered to help tonight. With her help and the kids we will be okay.

As for a Pastor, we are asking a df to bless us with prayer before we say our vows. He has known us for 24 years.

I am really feeling better tonight.

What a great idea to have your vows renewed. I am sure it will turn out beautiful.
When my DS made his confrrmation the priest offered the parents to have their marriage vows renewed too. It was indeed a special day for the parents too.
There are websites that offer many ideas what to serve and entertainment for that day.

Connie, it sounds like you have agreat party planned. Wish all of us at FC could come an enjoy your day with you as you renew your vows.
You are only a year behind dh and I. We just celebrated 25 years of marriage. NO one theought we'd make it past 3 years, including the two of us.
