Making your Anniversary a Special Day

Our anniversary this year falls in the middle of the week. We already had a babysitter last weekend and went out to celebrate the occasion.
But I'd like to do a little something to make the day special for my DH, even if I'll only see him for dinner. Being kid-free is not an option....

We really don't exchange anniversary gifts; sometimes we don't even do cards although I have gotten him a nice card this year.

I'd love to hear some inexpensive suggestions for making the little bit of the day that I do see him a special one.

If you want to make it family oriented, how about making it a fun dinner with the whole family cooking? Maybe rent a family movie and have popcorn and snacks?

Have a restaurant style dinner at home, complete with homemade menus. Pizzeria style would be fun. Complete it with game night or even make a make-shift arcade if you have video games.

Does your family like icecream? A sundae dessert bar with all fixings could be fun too.

Take lots of funny pictures!!

Those ideas sound so fun! Wish I had the time to do them....he will literally be home for 1 1/4 hour for dinner and then off with big DS to Boy Scouts.

BUT I could pull out the nice tablecloth and have DD make valentine placemats and tell them that it's our special day....

Your family sounds a lot like mine.....on the run a lot!

The placemats sound like a very special touch to the table. How about heart shaped brownies for dessert?

Sometimes at my house, I would settle for having us all at the table and everyone in a good mood at the same time.

Dont forget to whisper sweet nothings into his ear!
