How To Make Your Own Emergency Kit For Your Home
by Josefin O'Brien

QUESTIONS OF THE WEEK

USES FOR BUTTONS
I use buttons to keep my earrings to their match.
Just put through the hole & put on the back & now I don't have to spend time trying to find the match.

$25GROCERY CHALLENGE
Could she feed her family of 4 for $25 a week?
I recently accepted a challenge to feed our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers) for $25 for one week. I read that the average government aid recipient gets about $200-$225 per month for food, so I wanted to see how hard it would be to live on that amount of money and what challenges I would face.

TNT Kitchen Tip: Keeping Celery Fresh
To keep your celery stalks nice n crisp for several weeks, try this:
When you get home from the store, rinse celery off with cold water, shake off excess, then wrap the whole celery head in aluminum foil. Take out what you need when you need it then rewrap the foil. YOur celery will stay crisp and fresh for at least 2 weeks!!!

SELEACH
To keep lettuce crisp put it in a freezer bag or storage bag with paper towels.
The towels absorb the moisture.

MINNY
We used to use ketchup bottles for milk pitchers for our coffee when we were camping. Saved getting out the big jug of milk for just a little bit for coffee.
http://www.familycorner.com/forums/t...ts-2-a-84.html

KELL
I keep a toothbrush in a Mr. Smiley mug by my kitchen sink. I use it to scrub inside the rims of the plastic lids that "collect" food and other gunk. Also, I use it to clean my cheese grater. Takes just a few seconds to get all the holes nice and clean.
