Your menu sounds delish!! Not sure about the herring but I love lobster and steak!!

I'm sorry to hear about your dad, coll. My kids would take pork chops over pork roast any day. I can't find a decent pork roast around here - like I'm used to from up home.

I just asked my dh what he would like to have....he said spaghetti! ...that's not happening. lol!

We're having ham, spinach salad, black eyed peas, rice with carrott coins and cornbread. A little north and a little south, just like us.

We are having dry rubbed pork roast, turnips, mashed potatoes, pork gravy, seasoned green beans, coleslaw and gingerbread - apple cobbler, and rum cake.

Not a "traditional" menu I suppose, but that's it!

Buck always makes himself lobster. I am allergic to seafood. I made a cornish hen for me and a salad. We do have herring on New Year's Eve. For some reason that seems to be a tradition.

Since we moved to TN, my dh has wanted blackeyed peas and greens plus a meat. So, this year we had blackeyed peas (for luck) and greens (for money) and shrimp with penne pasta.
