Meat Pie

Originally posted by janet in the Nov 2002 WFD thread

Meatpie:

1-1/2 lbs. of beef & pork meat mixture.(called pasty meat here)

Dice carrots, potatoes, onions.

Add spices, salt, pepper, parsley flakes, garlic seasoning, Mrs. Dash, or any similar spice mixture.

2-3 Tbs. flour

1/2-1 stick of Promise margarine.(depends on the size you are making)

Combine all of the above ingredients.

Place in a pan, 8x11 1/2 that is sprayed with Pam Spray.Top with a pie crust, I use the recipe for a double crust, so there is ample crust. I cover the edges with foil so the edges don't get too brown. Bake in a 350 Degree oven for 1-1/2 hrs. Cooking time depends on how big you cut your vegetables. I try to make my medium size, too small and they get mushy.

Cut into squares, serve with ketchup, and Chow-chow. Ice cold milk goes great with this too!

There is only crust on top of the mixture, if you want to cut calories more, just eat the mixture and leave the crust off.
