Cookie mixes
 
Oatmeal Chewies Cookie Mix in a Jar
(with brown sugar frosting--optional)

1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup lightly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup quick oats
3/4 cup conflakes cereal (hand crush first-then measure--not

crumbs)
1 cup flour mixed with:
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
BROWN SUGAR FROSTING MIX:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar

Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 qt. "wide mouth"

canning jar. Press each layer firmly in place.
Add flour mixture in two additions, pressing each addition until
firm.
Put frosting mix ingredients into a ziplock sandwich bag. Label
bad "Frosting Mix". Press bag firmly into jar.
Attach recipe to the jar.



FROSTED OATMEAL CHEWIES COOKIES
1. Remove frosting mix bag from jar and set aside.
2. Empty jar ingredients into a large mixing bowl. Blend

thoroughly with a whisk.

3. Add: 3/4 stick (6 TBSP) very soft butter or margarine,
(NOT diet or tub).

1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
4. Mix with an electric mixer or a spoon until mostly blended.
Finish mixing with your hands to form a smooth dough.
5. Shape dough into 1-1/4" balls. Place on sprayed baking sheets.
Flatten cookie dough with your fingertips.
6. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
7. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet-then remove to wire racks.
8. MAKE FROSTING: Empty frosting mix into a small bowl.
ADD: 2 TBSP very soft butter or margarine
1 TBSP water.
Mix until smooth. Put some frosting on each cooled cookie.

PEANUT BLOSSOM COOKIE MIX IN A JAR
2/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup lightly packed brown sugar
2 cups flour mixed with:
1-1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
30-40 Hersey Kisses (keep wrapped and put in ziplock sandwich bag)
Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 qt. "wide mouth"
canning jar. Press each layer firmly in place.
Add flour mixture in several additions, pressing firmly after
each.
Place wrapped kisses in ziplock bag. Press bag firmly into jar.
Decorate jar and attach recipe with these instructions:
PEANUT BLOSSOMS COOKIES
1. Remove bag of candy from jar. Set aside.
2. Empty jar ingredients into a large mixing bowl. Blend thoroughly
with a whisk.
3. Add:
1 stick (8 TBSP) very soft butter or margarine (NOT
diet or tub),
1/2 cup peanut butter (Not reduced fat)
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
4.Mix with an electric mixer until crumbly. Finish mixing with hand
until a smooth dough is formed.
5. Shape dough into 1-1/4" balls. Place balls 2" apart on sprayed
baking sheets.
6.Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Unwrap candy while cookies are in oven.
7. Remove cookies after 10 minutes. Quickly press one candy into
center of each cookie. Return to oven for 2-3 more minutes.
8. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheer-then remove to wire racks.

PEANUT BUTTER/CHOCOLATE COOKIE MIX IN A JAR
3/4 cup Reese's Peanut Butter Bites (these are small candy balls
in a bag in the candy aisle).
1 cup honey flavored Teddy Grahams crackers
1 cup mini marshmallows
3/4 cup milk chocolate chips
3/4 cup peanute butter chips
Put milk chocolate chips and peanut butter chips together into
a ziplock sandwich bag.
Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 qt. "wide mouth"
canning jar. Press each layer firmly in place.
Push the bag of chips firmly into the top of the jar.
Decorate the jar and attach recipe with these instructions:
NO BAKE PEANUT BUTTER/CHOCOLATE COOKIES
1. Remove bag of chocolate chips from jar. Empty this bag into a
LARGE microwave safe dish.
2. Add 1-1/2 tsp. oil to chocolate chips and stir to mix.
3. Microwave for 1 minute. Stir until chocolate is nearly melted.
Microwave 30 seconds more. Stir until melted.
4. Add remaining jar ingredients to melted chocolate. Stir until all
ingredients are evenly coated with chocolate.
5. Drop mixture by tablespoons onto sprayed baking sheet.
6. Chill 30 minutes to set. No need to store in refrigerator.
Makes 24-30.
