Ldyroper, Welcome and congratulations on your 1st. anniversary. After you get one under your belt, it goes a little easier. It took my hubby and I to get used to each other..I thought the 1st year was the hardest! lol We had alot of baggage to get over and the best part was to keep talking. Now after 17 yrs. it seems funny to complain about the toothpaste cap, toliet seat lid, dirty socks on floor, and eating all food smothered in gravy! lol So you do get wiser as you age. lol;-)

Good luck! Congratulations to you both!

35 for hubby and me. Will be 36 in April. He still tingles my toes with a kiss. He is my best friend.

I really don't have any sage advise either. I think we were meant to be together and we were very very lucky. Heaven knows we have really tried each others patience.
But, I think after a while, the little things don't bother you anymore like Janet said. Besides the grandkids say I snore just as loud as grandpa, does.

Congratulations DMCSplash & Trainlady on your 10 yrs with your hubby. I hope they both know how lucky they are!

So far we have Sueanne being married for the longest time:47Yrs. Way to go!

Ldyroper is the newlywed for this group by being married for almost 1 yr.

So is there anyone else who can beat these records?

Post and let us know how long you have been married and if you have any advice add that too!

Thanks Janet. Marriage is a hard job in itself, and I tend to agree with a few ladies who have been married longer. When things are not going the way you want them to, you have to work twice as hard to get where you want to be in your marriage. As the years go by I've noticed myself letting "little" things not bother me as much as they used to. It does help that I married a man who helps around the house, is a great father and is a chef. I will jump in and add to the list.....

We've been married for 6 yrs. Second marriages for both of us. He has a daughter & a son from the previous marriage ( we dont get to see them--a whole other story ). We have a 5yr old son and one (boy/girl?) on the way!

In just 6 yrs, we have struggled through many problems and I agree with everyone that says that it takes love and commitment to work through those problems! It has made us stronger and closer as a couple.

I cant imagine being without him

Ajrsmom, Congratulations on your great news! How exciting for you and your family. Having my last baby was the happiest time in the world for me and still is!

We've been married for 13 years - but have been together for almost 17 years! We met in high-school and knew immediately that we would be together forever We were an old married couple while we were still dating!

We married young and I wouldn't ever change that! We had alot of lean years, but they were well worth it! They've made us appreciate what we have and where we've come that much more. I can't imagine ever being without him!

Truckin' along...

Hi All

My DH and I have been married 21 yrs--April 24th.--soon to be 22 yrs.

We met Nov. 9th, 1979--went on our 1st date Nov. 15th and he asked me to marry him Dec. 9th!! And, needless to say, I said "yes"!!

We met when we were both going through Paramedic training in AL-(we were in different classes). He told me that he walked into the classroom with his buddy--saw me (for the first time) and told his friend "that's the girl I'm going to marry". His friend laughed--"you don't even know her name" and DH relied-"but I will". All this was confirmed by his friend by the way!

I guess it was fate--I was born and raised in FL-DH in PA and we met at a tiny communiity college in AL!! I love the song "Keeper of the Stars" by Tracy Byrd...it so seems to fit our life.

We have 3 sons--21 (and soon to have a new DIL--he's asking her on Xmas and we're sure she'll say "yes")--13 and 4.

We've had our moments over the years (haven't all of us!) but I truly can't imagine my life with anyone else...
