Marriage is great!

Marriage is great! Studies have shown that people who are married live longer than singles....probably due to the fact we are no longer out all night chasing cowboys! lol

I think everyone should try it at least once!

Marriage

Yes, marriage can be great. We've lasted 35 years. Both my ds and dd have tried it twice, I'm sticking with once. Trust me, my dh and I have been through practically everything together. Some good, some bad, some unmentionably horrid. But when you make a list, the good outweighs the bad and I've no intentions of starting out all over again. Not enough tea in China. Besides, he still tingles my toes.

Thanks, Janet

Thanks. We really are soul mates I feel. He really is my best friend on almost every day. Sometimes he rubs me the wrong way but I'm sure I'm just as agrivating. In this journey called life, I can't imagine myself traveling down the road with anyone but him.

How long has anyone been married? Is this your 1st one? How do you make your marriage last so long?

My Story

I lived in California for 10 years. All of my relatives live in the midwest. After 10 years of not seeing them, I could finally afford a vacation. I came to visit my sister in Missouri. There, in her kitchen, was the man of my dreams. I stayed for a week with my sister and went back home to California. (Now I know it was not my "home", it was just the place I was living). I told the woman that I worked with there that I had met my future husband in Missouri. I told them that I was going to move to Missouri and marry this man, he just didn't know it. Three weeks after I moved to Missouri, I married the man of my dreams. We have been happily married for 6 yrs. I know this is not very long but I feel like I have loved him all my life. That's my story.

P.S. We now have 3 kids. One from a previous marriage of mine and two together!! Poor with money but very rich in love!!!

Questions???

Do you think your marriage gets better or worse with the years?

I think my marriage is gets better as the years roll by. It seems as if we have always been together and there are no harsh words between us.

Better

I think our marriage has gotten better. At first there was too much passion involved. Now there is still passion now and then, but mostly its a friendship type of relationship. I wish I could say no harsh words because occasionaly we have those, too, when we have different opinions. But we always come to mutual grounds. We are partners, friends, and lovers now.

Janet, I don't think you stated how long you had been married. I'm kinda curious about that. You seem to be pro marriage so I'm guessing its been a few years.;-)

Ladyinmaille, I have been married for only 17 years. This is a second marriage for both of us. We have his kids, my child and one child together. They are all boys too! 5 live in Ft. Wayne, 1 in Green Bay, and one with us.

My husband is my soulmate....I was drawn to him immediately and the same for him. We were both in that mindset...never going to get married again...after 5 years of dating we decided to marry. We are so very happy together.
