Surprised I have not read this before.
Since I have been married 58 years a lot of years have passed in our marriage. My husband has always been dependable, strong, thoughtful & romantic since the day I met him, My Dad liked him from the start and was not worried about me marrying someone older. I am easy going so he never had to worry I would make a mountain out of a mole hill if I did not agree with him. His biggest problem was he didn't like to take risks or changes. Being in construction he worked hard and had to worry how long the jobs would last. Once he saw I was mature to handle bills and make decisions he felt he didn't have to worry anymore.

We moved to another state bought a house. The job market was better and so were the unions. We raised our family in the country in a relaxed atmosphere. When he retired we moved to Florida where he could relax in comfort. He had his health problems but I was glad we caught them right away. He always says he is alive because of my care. Although I lost the sight in one eye almost twenty years ago no one could tell. Still keep active & try to learn as much as I can what is new about everything.

Now that he is getting older and his friends are gone we try to make the most of our time together and with our family.
Hard taking care of my son and dh but God has given me the strength for each new day.

So take care of each other and let them know how special they are while they are still here.

Sueanne, you are an inspiration to us all. I admire you so much, your strength and determination. Both you and your dh are amazing people and I hope you both have many more years together. Glad your son is with you as well. More families should step and and take care of each other.
