I didn't know that! As much pasta as I cook, I will have to try that.

My sister used to (and probably still does) put cold water in a pot and add the noodles and cook them from that point. Everyone used to laugh at her but it worked. I've never tried that method, though.

Janet, my kids loved toasted baked bean sandwiches with cheese. I got the idea from the Not Just BEans cookbook. They call it Toasty BEaners!

Haleys grandmom, when you cook the pasta that way do you put a lid on the pot after you turn it off?

One thing about leaving pasta in the pot the strands get thicker. If you want if adente take it out right away. Seems like you never get rid of pasta if you save leftovers.
