Does anybody use ING for their banking?

I was wondering if anybody uses ING for their banking. I would love to hear the good and negative about this online banking.

I have an ING high-yeild savings account. I don't use it for regular baking, just as a savings account. It's linked to my regular checking and I have a pre-set amount withdrawn every month. The APR% is must higher than a regular savings account.

It does take about 4 days to process and withdrawals or deposits.

I think it's great and a good way to put away money.

I have a savings acct. there. A couple of months ago, I moved my G.K.W. fund (God Knows What) from my local bank to ING. So far I've been happy with it. The site is really very easy to navigate, and I like that it shows me how much interest I've earned - which is 4x what I was earning at my old bank. SkiGirl is right. It does take a few days to get withdrawals, so I still keep a couple hundred dollars in my local bank - in case I need some money immediately.

I have a savings account there and really enjoy using it. Know that money won't be immediately accessible there though.

I use them too. I have short term GICs (commitment issues) and savings that earn 3.15% right now. I can't think of anything negative, really. It is REALLY rewarding watching your interest grow, which they display in a prominant position. SOOOO much better than seeing $0.01 in interest from RBC. I make semi-regular deposits. And I like that it is hidden from me unless I look for it, and there's no nasty debit card to tempt me. I do wish they did RESPs, though.

I think that this is a US/Canada difference. I am in Ontario, Canada. We are getting 3.15% as of today. This is still WAY better than other banks. As a matter of fact, I just closed my "regular" bank's savings account because they charged me $8 for a moving money fee -- their fees recently changed -- so I closed the darn account -- not only was it not making me any money, it was costing me money. Slowly I will be moving everything to a no-fee bank, I think.

Online Savings Accounts

I don't use ING but I use EmmigrantDirect. It works the same way. It pays MUCH more than my local bank and it's a good way to save if you don't need a brick and mortar bank. Like ING, it takes about 4 days to process transfers. I've been using it for about a year and I like it.
