Chicken & Dumplings (CP)

Originally posted by Momszoo in April 2003 WFD

chicken and dumplings in the crock pot for tonight's dinner. It's so easy and my kids love it!

4-6 Chicken Breasts (it's ok if they're frozen)
2 cans Campbell's Cream of Chicken Soup
1 can of water
4 Chicken Bouillion cubes
Frozen Vegetables
1 tube of biscuits

I put the chicken, soup, water, and bouillion in the crockpot and let it cook on low for 4-5 hours then add the frozen veggies for about 30 minutes or so (plus I add a can of mushrooms too) then pull apart the biscuits and put the pieces on top of the chicken mixture, put the cover back on and let it cook for another 20-30 minutes until the biscuits (dumplings) are cooked inside. Mix it all together and serve.

Crockpot Chicken & Dumplings

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut in small chunks
2 cans condensed cream of chicken soup
1/4 cup onion, finely diced
1/2 cup baby carrots, cut into small chunks
2 cups water
2 10 oz packages refrigerated biscuits
1 chicken bouillon cube

Combine all ingredients, except biscuits, in slow cooker.
Cover and cook on low for 7 hours. 30 minutes before serving,
tear biscuit dough into 1-inch pieces. Add to your slow cooker;
stirring gently. Cover and cook on high for an additional 30
minutes or until biscuits are fluffed up and cooked through.

Crockpot Chicken N Dumplings

4 skinless boneless chicken breasts( I'm using bnls thighs)
2 tablespoons butter
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 onion, finely diced
2 packages of refrigerated biscuit dough
water to cover

For chicken: place the chicken, butter, soup and onion in crock and fill with water to cover. Turn to high and cook 5-hours or until chicken is cooked through and no longer pink.

For dumplings: about 30 minutes before serving, take apart dough and place biscuits into mixture in crock. the biscuits will turn into the dumplings. test readiness of dumplings by cutting one in half; if the center is cooked the dumplings are ready to eat.

I'm also adding frozen peas and mushrooms to this.
