Pizza in a Bowl

1 lb roll of Italian sausage
1 package of sliced pepperoni
1 green pepper, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 can of mushrooms, drained
1 jar pizza sauce (ragu is only 3 carbs/serving)
1 bag of pizza cheese

Brown italian sausage in your largest skillet and drain. While sausage is browning, combine pepper, onion, mushrooms, and pizza sauce in a saucepan and warm it up. After draining sausage, place pepperoni slices to taste in pan with sausage and warm them up a bit.Toss in the sauce/vegetable mixture and mix thoroughly.Throw in the cheese and mix thoroughly.Spoon into bowls.
Serves 4

Carbs per serving unknown, no more than 30 for the whole thing.

I made this last week using Hunts sugar free tomato sauce and some seasonings for the pizza sauce. It's great because you can change it up and not get bored with it.

Do you have a hard time finding the sugar free Hunt's sauce or the low carb Ragu? For awhile I can get the Ragu and then it seems to disappear again for awhile. Walmart's pizza sauce is low in sugar so I sometimes use it.

Our WalMart hardly carries anything low carb. I can get the sugar free Hunts tomato sauce with no problems but not the Ragu at all.

It seems to be getting worse and worse. I noticed that the price of the Atkins bars jumped like crazy. When I first started lc-ing in January, the drinks and bars were a little over $5. --- like $5.48. A couple of days ago I was going to pick up a box of the bars to have here to stick one in my purse in case I was out and needed a snack. The price of the bars are now over $8.00 for 5 bars!!! I left them on the shelf because I can't justify spending that much for them.

I will check out their pizza sauce the next time I'm there. Thanks for mentioning it.

Yeah, the same thing happened to my DH's Fat Free stuff, either it is discontinued (everywhere) or the price has skyrocketed. Same thing with the low carb stuff. I;ve been trying to work in more "regular" food for both of us and watch all we have to watch, but it is really hard when you are in a hurry!
Just went and grabbed a jar of the pizza sauce from the pantry; Great Value Pizza Sauce: per 1/4 cup serving 1 g total fat,0 g sat fat, 0 mg cholesterol, 260 mg sodium, total carbs 4 g, fiber 1 g, sugars 3 g. protein 1 g
Doesn't taste bad either! Hope you can have it!
