Eggs, bacon & ham for dinner

Hello everyone, doesn't it seem strange to be eating Eggs, bacon & ham for a meal...doesn't sound like a diet. lolI had 2 slices of SaraLee low carb bread...so that was my total carbs today..18..I try to stay between 20-25...and most days none...I am never hungry, are you? I have tons of energy and it is funny how I can watch my guys eat chips, chocolate and so on and I am not bothered...

last week when my mom was here I made cabbage rolls..and didn't tell her they were low-carb and she liked them...they were yummy.

I do notice now I am running out of meat, salad, spices and celery...

has anyone tried the carb-options peanut butter...maybe it is me but I loved it...it is great to smear a tad of it on celery..

Here's to slimming down!

I've only seen the low carb peanut butter

in Atkins catalog. The macademia nut butter looks delicious and I'm not a peanut butter fan at all.

Ya know, I was thinking the same thing this morning...how could you not like a diet when you can have eggs, cheese, bacon, ham, sausage, all meats, cream cheese, sour cream...goodness, I think this is the best diet ever!!! Ooops...I mean, lifestyle!!!

My family loves salmon patties.... so do I but I usually put in mashed potato.
I'm going to make them tonight for dinner but omit the mashed potato, then to figure out what else to have

Would you believe I haven't had broccoli for about 5 weeks now because it has been $7.95 a kilo Cauliflower not far behind and I hate the frozen stuff.
We had coleslaw last night. I'm in a rut, can't be bothered kinda mood It's still to darn hot

Recently started on Atkins ....

Hi everyone,
I started Atkins almost 3 weeks ago and am doing much better than I thought I would. My biggest problem has been coming up with exciting things to eat. I've borrowed tons of recipe books from the library to help in my search.

I love the mock mashed potatoes - which unfortunately, my dd isn't interested in eating. I don't get it, she's usually pretty good about eating everything, but she's just not into the cauliflower.

I'm looking forward to checking out the recipe section to find some more great recipes!

Hi everyone! Ok, I'm on day 1 of a high protein diet! So, for breakfast I had ham and cottage cheese with a smidgen of grapefruit juice. For lunch I had a jr bacon cheeseburger minus the buns and a caesar salad. I'm full, and I feel good! I'm going to go to the store and see if I can find some of the low carb bread and see what else they have low carb. I had forgotten how much fun this way of eating can be. While we were in Las Vegas we ate out with my dh's old boss. He's lost 80 on a high protein diet. I think his face looks to thin, but I'd like to see my face again, I don't look like me anymore!

Patrice - I know a while back you shared some of your sites you get ideas from (Atkin's type recipes). Can you share them with me? I didn't bookmark them before, and I'd like to check them out.

I'm hoping that ya'll will help me with this way of eating, because I haven't done this in a couple of years, so my willpower is low.

Carol

Congrats on the Low Carb lifestyle Songberries

Absolutely I'll share...one is http://atkins.com/ On here you can do a daily log of your intake and it'll add it up for you and it has an online carb counter that you can use.

Also there is one called Active Low Carber...which has a support group/recipes-(with frugal low-carb recipes instead of buying Atkins products)...is http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay.php?f=25

Also...one more is...http://pub10.ezboard.com/fyourgrannysplacefrm17

Hope this helps!!!

Tonight for dinner is Tacos. I got some low carb wraps (3netcarbs) on line that I will use instead of the shell. This is one of my families favorites.
