Tami, thank you for the moral support. My biggest problem now is that this diet is boring.

But I am inventive with recipes and as long as I'm not being lazy, I eat well.

Just wish the loss was faster.

If you ddecide to get back on it, I'll share recipes and tips or help you any way I can.

I'm going to read your Weight Loss Journal.
I'll probably find I've embarrassed myself because you've posted hundreds of good recipes already. lol

Thanks for responding so fast to this post.

Maryann-Try the library, I like to check out the Atkins, South Beach and Suzanne Summers Diet books. You can find lots of low carb recipes there.

Here's a cookie recipe that I love!

Peanutbutter Cookies

1 cup peanutbutter (I love crunchy)
3/4 cup splenda (grandular, not packets)
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Mix all together in a bowl with a wooden spoon. Roll into balls, press twice with a fork, bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Yum!

I've lost a total of 230 low carbing. I've found that eating the same thing all the time actually helps, it keeps my mind off of food. Low carbing has become a way of life for me and I've decided that it is just my lifestyle now!

Thank you, Carol. I will look those recipes up. And as soon as I get some granular splenda, I'll make the cookies.

Many congratulations on your wonderful loss.
Do you mind me asking how long it took you?

I started the first week of Sept and don't feel I'm making the kind of progress I should. I just don't want to get discouraged and back slide.

I started March 8, 2004. I lost 24 pounds the first week and 40 pounds the first month. By July I had lost 100 pounds. I started walking 3 miles every other day in May 2004 and started running that fall. Everybody is different on weight loss. I kept my carbs very low, no fruits, no grains and no starchy veggies. I'm just started to add squash, berries and some grains back into my diet. I don't ever plan on eating breads or potatoes again. They actually don't even sound good to me anymore.
Here's a site that has some great sounding Thanksgiving recipes -

Good luck! If you have any questions just ask, I'll try to help!
