1 chopped Bell Pepper
1 chopped Onion
2 Medium Tomatoes Chopped
1 Cup chopped Celery
1 Clove Garlic Crushed (I'll probably use two!)
2 tablespoons minced parsley
2 teaspoons thyme leaves
2 teaspoons oregano
1/8 teaspoon chilli pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups beef or chicken broth
4 oz smoked sausage (I use Turkey Sausage)
8 oz chicken breast
1/2 pound cooked shelled shrimp
Combine all ingredients and cook in a slow cooker on low 9-10 hours add shrimp in the last 30 minutes.
I am making this tonight!
Let us know how you like it!
It was wonderful! I altered it just a bit. I didn't put chicken in mine and instead used a pound of sausage and a pound of shrimp. I also added the extra hot Rotel tomatoes and way more chili powder. But, it was wonderful! My weakness when I am stressed is soup. This makes such a wonderful comforting soup. I thought I was in heaven.
DeBora, this recipe made me hungry, just to
read it. You do what I do, improvise, never
exactly follow the recipe, but do use as a
guide.
Betty, isn't it fun to make recipes our own? I reheated some for myself tonight.
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. I often alter recipes, also. It's fun to tweak them to make your own version
