Here we have many things going on all year long.

The ones we attend are:
Apple Blossom Festival - This is a week long event with celbrities, pagents, parades, carnival, etc... Our population normally triples that week.

Dooh Dah day (for the kids)

Hot Air Balloon Festival in October

Christmas parade

Also New Years Downtown with live music and events, and fireworks and our apple drop at midnight

SMILE, it's contagious!!!

My town has Pancake Day on the last day of September. It kicks off with a fun run(right in front of my house). A kiddie parade, crafts on the town square, the big parade, crowning of the Pancake day queen right before the entertainment. Last Sept we had Hilljack here. Oh and did I mention all the free pancakes you can possibly eat. If you want gourmet ones those you have to buy. Everything is free. And there are food vendors everywhere you look.

It will depend which festival you're talking about.

Some events require the bachelor to have a green heart or higher. Or for the Fireworks festival, for example, everyone meets at the beach..and then you talk to the person you want to watch it with.

Look at this page and click on the festival for more info:

Every year for the past 8 or 9 years on the 3rd weekend of August we have the American Folk Festival. The first 3 years it was run by the National Folk Festival people who go around the country and have a festival in a different place for 3 years. Many communities that host it carry on after the first 3 years by funding it themselves. It is a great time of mostly music from all over the world and many ethnic foods. There are no rides. The set up huge tents for about 4 or 5 stages for the music.. In my community the site is along the Penobscot River here in Maine.. This year it will be scaled back abit because of costs but should still draw a huge crowd. It will be Friday night the 27th of August til late Sunday afternoon the 29th. Last year we had rain on the Saturday of it and this caused many to stay away. Hoping for great weather for this year.
