My goodness that doesn't look anything like the papayas we get here in Ohio from the grocery store.. ours are not much bigger than a apple or pear.

Sueanne.. have you ever tried dehydrating it?

I just googled this to see if it's possible:

https://nouveauraw.com/raw-recipies/...papaya-spears/

I am thinking some of your friends might like that as a Christmas gift. I know it can also be canned as I bought a can of it at Aldi's last week. Another idea for Christmas gifts if you are able to do canning.

I'd say dehydrating would be a good economical gift to send your friends out of state.

Anna, I still have papaya's growing on my tree from last year that made it through the cold weather. I can eat them green in cooking or bring them inside to ripen in a warm house.
Took this photo today.

Freezing Figs for later use.

Froze my Celeste figs in July 2016 still enjoying the bounty in my smoothie this morning. Have ripe frozen Papaya too.
