We have a small freezer (just the 2 of us) the size of a dishwasher. I keep a running list taped to the outside lid, of the contents. As I use things I cross it off. I have done this for years, and it works great. I keep my turkeys and ice on the bottom. The veggies are in a basket, and I keep my frozen potatoes, beef, chicken etc. in the white grocery bags that you bring your goceries home in. (Everything has its own "home". when I need something, I know right where to go. The freezer in the top of our refrigerator, I keep ice cream, cool whip, nuts, etc. in. Hope this helps. CAFE
