Question GERDS / reflux disease

Has anyone had a child with GERDS? A reflux disease? My godbaby has it and his mom is really frazzled.

First off, yes, I have had a child with GERD. Secondly, how old is the baby? I may have something else to add depending on the age.

Okay, have they checked him for pyloric stenosis? Our son had horrible reflux problems--it just kept getting worse and worse untile he finally projectile vomited (at six weeks). He was immediately sonogrammed and confirmed that he had pyloric stenosis which is the pyloric muscle in the stomach closing off entry into the stomach so virtually nothing is truly going down. The only cure is a minor stomach surgery. We were told that six weeks is THE TIME that this can be diagnosed. We were scared to death to send our baby into surgery but he was just wasting away in front of us--it had to be done. A 30 minute surgery, a few nights in the hospital and few more to heal up and he was fine. Please pass this on to your godbabies mom as something to check into.

Peace be with you.

Thanks, I will. Actually I suggested that she post more details herself on this thread about her sons condition.
