well I'm not exactly new around here but I've never come here and introduced myself. I am a stay at home grandmother. My daughter and her two girls live with my husband and I. She is going through a divorce . They have lived with us most of the time since the oldest girl was born. The girls are 6 and 9. The 9 year old has many behavioral problems. She has Asperger Syndrome - that is a high functioning autisism. It is a challenge to care for. Her sister is just the oppoist - she is a social butterfly and smart as a whip. she takes a lot from her sister and says as sweet and gentle in return as can be. I enjoy both of them and watching them grow and change each day.
I enjoy crafts, reading, scrapbooking and being Gamaw
I use Crerative Memories for my scrapbooking. Going to crops a couple times a month has been a life saver for me this winter. I was fighting isolating myself but I felt ok to go to crops at my consultants house.
May God smile on you today

I'm new here!
Hello,
I'm new here! My name is Teresa. I'm an Army wife and a SAHM to Tristan(16 months). We are currently stationed in England, and will be here for 2 more years. We've been here for 10 months and really enjoy it.
Some of my interests include cross-stitching, baking, cookbooks and recipes (love exchanging recipes!), reading, going to movies, playing with my son and trying to think of ways to entertain him. I am a self-proclaimed Couch Potato and love watching TV. I'm also an internet addict.
I'm originally from Michigan, my husband, Rodney is from Louisiana. We have a house in Texas (our last duty station) and we plan to go back to TX after our time here in England is up.
I think that's it for now!
Teresa

Hello, Theresa Sue!
By chance, would you have or be able to find, a recipe for CRUMPETS? I love them!
Thanks!

Craft 1
I thought I was organized. LOL Not You've got me beat hands down. All my stuff is thrown in big plastic tubs and I haven't a clue as to what's in them. I can see through them, tho, so that saves some time. My major organizing is my clothes. I have complete outfits including jewelry, belts, etc, all on 1 hanger so when I get dressed in the morning around 5 AM I don't have to think. LOL

Where are abouts in England are you stationed? I was born and raised in a small town near Nottingham.
I am sure you find it very different living there than in Texas. I know I found living in Canada ( where I am now) very different than being in England when we moved here.
Hope you dont mind me asking.
Sue

Response to Culinary Jen and Craftymom
Culinary Jen - I don't have a recipe for Crumpets, but there may be on online somewhere. I don't have any British cookbooks. I haven't even eaten a crumpet yet, but they do look yummy.
Craftymom- We're at RAF Molesworth in Cambridgeshire. Yes, England is very different from the USA but I really like it here. Things are done at a slower pace here, and it's taken some getting used to but I will look back on my time here with happiness. I do miss a lot of the conveniences that the states offer, but it's a small sacrifice for being here, living in a different culture and being able to take trips around Europe.

I hope you will enjoy your time there as it is a nice area where you are.
It must be nice to get to travel as much as you do and see some wonderful places.

You have me beat with the clothes...I've just organized my closets separately. I put my tops all together....starting with the white, to creme, to beige, to yellow, etc. Then sub-catergorize by sleevless, short sleeve, long sleeve, etc. Same with my shorts, slacks, skirts and dresses. But I do utilize the plastic shoe boxes for my shoes (love shoes; especially different color shoes ...buy them even when I don't have a thing to wear with them...head straight for the shoe dept. directly after the children's dept. for the grandbabies of course, everytime I go in a store.) I put them in each tub, then label them with the color, type and heel size (i.e. tan, suede, flats). Then I have them stacked in the closet by colors. It's so easy to put my hands on just what pair I want with each outfit or season. Then have the larger sweater type containers for my scarves (rolled on empty paper towel rolls to keep them from wrinkling...then placed in the tub by colors).
But I love your idea...makes it really easy if you're working. I'm not working since we moved; so the hardest decision I make about what to wear in the morning is: which cool romper should I throw on...it's really great not having to worry about dressing for work anymore. I'm up anyway though...generally always up by 5 AM...alot of times by 4 AM and don't have to be. I just don't require alot of sleep...four hours will do just fine. Then just work around here and organizing...if I didn't organize, our house would be a disaster... hubby is messy. So my organizing keeps things
in order... thank goodness.
If you've got extra containers and want somemore ideas for their use...just e-mail me and I'll be happy to share some of the time saving / clutter-free uses for them that I've found. And if I ever decide to return to the work force, I'll definitely try your time saving idea!
Take care and have a good week!
