My Drug Problem

My Drug Problem

My generation just might have been lucky.
I had a drug problem when I
was young, but I turned out all right.

I was drug to weddings and funerals.

I was drug to family reunions no matter
the weather.

I was drug to the bus stop to go to school
every weekday.

I was drug by my ears when I was
disrespectful to adults and teachers.

I was also drug to the woodshed when I
disobeyed my parents.

Those drugs are still in my veins; and they
affect my behavior in everything I do, say,
and think. They are stronger than cocaine,
crack, or heroin, and if today's children had
this kind of drug problem, America might be
a better place.

My words exactly!!!!! Thank you, Cindy, for begining this thread. In today's world, everything seems to be going downward. Such a shame. Of course, there are the "good" kids, but we, the public, don't hear much about those kids. We only hear about all the kids going drown the drain. Parents don't seem to care, and as a result, the kids don't have any direction, nor the care from their parents. As a child, my parents seemed to be too strict and I hated it. Now that I'm an adult, I look back on those days and praise God that they, my parents, cared enough to give me that "tough love"! Nowadays all I see is the result of parents letting their children have too much spare time, not caring what is happening. That's when these kids go crazy with freedom, and find the wrong road to travel. ~ ~ Gee! I'm sorry for rambling on and on, but now being a 'senior' I just see so much damage being done by our young generation, that I wonder just what the world will be like when they, the young generaion, become adults, and have the rule of the world. Or is this the begining of the end??

End of my opinion.

“The value of doing something does not lie in the ease or difficulty, the probability or improbability of its achievement, but in the vision, the plan, the determination and the perseverance, the effort and the struggle which go into the project. Life is enriched by aspiration and effort, rather than by acquisition and accumulation.”
