Pinkie Winky set of books

My favorite "Book" is a series from 1900-1920 by Martha Finley called Elsie Dinsmore. It contains 30 books telling a story of Elsie from childhood to old age and her family. I read it first as a 9 yr old when a woman from our Church loaned it to me one book at a time and recently I bought my own set off E-Bay. There actually is a trilogy of what I refer to as "smut" books that I re-read when I need to feel womanly for a little while as well it's by Linda Lael Miller. They are about 3 sisters that were put on the orphan trains in the 1880's and seperated and now are adults trying ti find each other.

My two favorites are the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and "Wuthering Heights". A practical book I enjoy is "The Complete Tightwad Gazette".

Griffes, I really enjoyed each of the books you mentioned. I didn't find the velvetine Rabit till I was about 40 but I loved it. I really liked the dragonrider series but my favorite book by Ann McCafferty was "The Crystal Singer". It just really grabbed me for some reason.

I have also read THE CRYSTAL SINGER. It is also a series and I've read & enjoyed all of them also. I went to the library to find out what other books McCafferty had written and found she had written many. She has even written some plain fiction. I remember one about a young girl and her dog (a mastif I think-it was huge dog). I found I liked all of her books that I'd read. I've wondered if any of them would ever be made into movies, seeing what has been coming to the theaters lately.

For light entertaining fiction, I like all the Danielle Steel; but I mostly remember Fine Things by her. Am currently reading an Outlander series by Diana Galbaldon; very good.
Nonfiction, self help. .. Fearless Living by Rhonda Britton. BEST self help I've read yet. She's better than Dr. Phil. She's on TV as well. She has the Starting Over series. Here in the Dallas area the show is on NBC at noon.

My favorite books are by Danielle Steel and Elizabeth Berg.
I remember a book I read as a young girl named "Behold Your Queen"-I don't know the author, but it was about Queen Esther in the Bible. I loved it-
I also love "Little Women" and "Jane Eyre". I've read them many times.
