Has anyone out there ever read any of the BENNI HARPER MYSTERIES? They are written by Earlene Fowler, who is also a quilter. From what I understand each book has a quilt theme.
I got the first one of the series, FOOL'S PUZZLE, but have not started it yet. Just checking to see if anyone else has read the series, and what they thought.

Sandy, How do you keep the characters straight when you are reading several books at a time? Some books that I read, I have had to write the characters down (in the front of the book) and who they are.

(Especially if there are alot of them) I really wish I could have 3 books going at a time, then I could have 1 by my bed, 1 by my chair, and 1 in the car. I really do admire people like you who can read several books at a time.

I am jealous

It's not so hard to read a few at a time. I just make sure that I keep each book in the room I started it in! I have one in the bathroom, one in the living room and one in the car. It also makes it easier when they are different types of books, too.

That's a great idea! Maybe if I tried that, I'd actually get to some of the books in the big pile of "Stuff I want to read some day when the baby takes a nap and I have no pressing household chores to do!!"

Let me know how it goes! It's the only way I can keep up with all my "must reads".

Sometimes I keep a book in the car, but most of the time it's the magazines. I'm forever waiting for someone, and a magazine I can put down and not get frustrated because I'm "in a good spot".

;-) I just finished "Special Agent: My Life on the Lines as a Woman in the FBI" by Candice DeLong.

It was a very interesting book, and then the other day on CNN they were interviewing her in regards to the Sniper case. I was like, "I know who she is!!"

I am new to this board, I love reading FBI thrillers and true crime, also Mystery novels. I love Tami Hoag and Lisa Gardner, they are great authors!!

Just finished Sandra Brown's new one "The Crush" It was good but you kinda knew what was going to happen at the end. Now I am back to finishing the two that I started and never finished.

I'm currently re-reading Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. There's "Outlander", "Dragonfly in Amber", "Voyager" and "Drums of Autumn", and "The Fiery Cross." These books are EXTREMELY addictive.

It's about a nurse in World War II who travels in time back to Scotland and runs into all sorts of trouble - and finds the love of her life. It's not your normal romance but it's so easy to fall in love with all the characters.

I'd definitely recommend picking them up....only problem is there are two more books in the series that aren't done yet. I waited 2 years for "The Fiery Cross."

Hope you enjoy them if you try them.
