June, 2013 Friendship Thread

Happy Father's Day to all Fathers, Grandfathers, Uncles!

Any plans for dad's big day?

Not only a month for dads but also graduations and weddings. Congrats to the graduates and the brides.

wow, it's quite here on this board. Seems we have a lot of subscribers but no talkers. Well here I go.. LOL

Today was a workday to prepare for our VBS at our church as it starts on the 17th will go thru the 21st.
This year I will be working with the crafts or either be a team leader to help get the kids from one spot to another. Either one can be fun.

This past Thur my youngest gd by daughter turned another year older, so hard to believe she is now a teen. She had a slumber party and wanted me to come to it.. I guess that is called LOVE. LOL, yet feel honor that she would want me to be at her slumber party.
Couldn't go due to workday at the church plus this month during the SS time I'll be teaching . It seemed as if she understood which I was thankful.

I also woke up on Fri morning with a crick in the neck which went down to my back thank goodness I had a chiropractor appt which helped some. Yesterday it was sore, and this morning it back in the crick but not as bad as it was Thur. otherwise I might not and feel sure I wouldn't be able to
help out with the workday today.
We have been cut down to going to the chiropractor to two times a week now instead of 3 for our treatments due to the car wreck back in April.
Plus on June 10th we will be going to a specialist on this to see what they want to do. Thank goodness the other guy who hit us for not paying attention it is his parents insurance that is paying for all of this for both of us.

Went back to read the rest of the post in May but notice I hadn't miss many.
Hard to believe June is HERE.
a year ago sometime in June I had to go into hospital, we moved into the new house, wow, it's been a year. hard to believe!

Temps been hot here too, we had to get the A/C fixed last week
Meadow sorry for your lost, as when we lost our animals that we love so much that is losing a part of our family. It great that you can help take care of the rescue animals. They need someone that
can help them and I know each one you take in appreciates it.

Pam how did you enjoy the movie " After Earth"?
Renting and buying is so different for you do feel free to do what you would like to to the place without no
worries what the landlord will like or not, and if he changes his mind and need you to move without your knowledge it fixing to happen. As that happened to us once. It was a nightmare.

Ya'll have a nice week. Check in later.

Bar-Bar I have been gone with Stacie
and her foster daughter from 9:30 this morning
till 4:20 this afternoon then 15 mins after I got
home left with Gina. We went to Bingo nice being
out together bu t neither of us won. And lots of
games neither of us had ever heard of. We got home
at 10:30. She and Kent are on a special diet so we
came straight home. So I am eating a bowl of cereal
now. At least it is nothing heavy to go to bed on.
I will take what I am served knowing someone out there is being served MUCH less

Charlotte, keep thinking of the visit from your son and family. It is something to really look forward to. I will be thinking of you. Prayers for all.

It is 1 year ago today that ds passed away. It is a hard month for my grandson. I know what he is going through. Father's Day will be a day of confused feelings. He will be missing his dad while at the same time he has 2 sons who are 1 yr and 9 months old.
I miss my son. In July it will be 19 yrs my mom passed on. Sept will be 11 yrs my dd has been gone and Nov. 20 yrs for my dad. Of course I miss them all including my 2nd dh. It was 15 yrs in April. But today my thoughts are mostly with my son.

Yesterday I was outside most of the day weeding. I am getting there. Today is much cooler. Only 50* and the wind is off the lake so feels even cooler.
I am staying indoors.
Next week I have an appointment with the heart doc because of low blood pressure.
And have to take a med for it.
Yesterday Buck and Roland went fishing. Caught a lot of white bass. Buck told Roland to keep them all so he will smoke them. I know already I will be putting smoked fish in the freezer.

Sharon I am thinking of you today. My heart goes out to you. May 31st was 32 yrs sense my brother passed away. I know it is still very tuff on my mom and dad.

Smoke fish sounds great. Do you cook them on the grill?
Have a wonderful day.

Bar_Bar, I think it is very sweet that your dgd wanted you to come to her sleepover birthday party. Sounds like church is keeping you busy.

Sharon, Hard to believe it has been a whole year since your ds passed away. Hugs to you my friend as I know this is a hard anniversary. Glad to hear Buck has been able to go out fishing. Smoked fish sounds really good.

Charlotte, As Sharon said, hold on to thoughts of your ds' upcoming visit to help you through this difficult month. Sending you hugs. Hopefully your family being around will help.

Patti, glad you got to go out with Stacie but sorry neither of you won at Bingo. Has it been hot where you are? We had a few very hot humid days but are not back to the cooler but warm typical June days.

Pam & Lauri, hope all is well with you both.

Seems like I have been missing from here for too long! My dc babies are keeping me so busy. One has just learned to walk and the other is 5 mos. and not sitting up yet so needs a lot of attention. The other dc children are great but all total 6 children keep me on the move. I only have 2 and a half weeks left of work and then I am done. All my my dc families have been informed of my closing my dc and are being so supportive. All are staying with me until the end even though a few have found new daycare already. My last week is going to be very difficult as I love these children dearly. Luckily I am friends with all my dc parents on FB so can keep in touch and see new pics of the children. Dh and I have officially filed for divorce and things were going smoothly until we had to divide the financial assets and are now at a standstill. It's complicated but I am going to talk to a lawyer to see what my options are. We didn't want to have to get lawyers involved but he is not being fair and I need to see what I can do about that. I do have a couple of fun things coming up this summer - a concert and a white water rafting trip so I have something to look forward to. But then, at the end of July, I have to have surgery. Not happy about that but a necessity so I will get through it. I'm hoping my soon to be ex will keep me on his insurance at least until after the surgery and follow-up appointments. I have been moving my things to the house in Maine but still have so much to do. The water and heat are all working now. Last weekend I found a couch, matching love seat and two chairs at a yard sale and got all of it for $10. I thought the lady was joking when she told me the price. So, now I at least have living room furniture! (I already had bedroom furniture and kitchen stuff). Little by little things are coming together. On June 14th my youngest son will be graduating high school. He is excited and I am excited yet sad. He will be starting college in the fall. I am moving to Maine full time at the end of June and hopefully I will be able to start a new daycare. So, that's all I have been up to. I have missed everyone here and I keep hoping I will be better able to keep up. I think once I am settled in Maine and things have calmed down I will have more computer time. So, I am off to finish laundry. Hope everyone is having a great evening.
