Leap Year - February 29, 2012

What are you doing on the "extra" day this month? Do you have a family member or friend that has a birthday on February 29th?

I've always considered February the "Hurry Up" month. With less days than most months, the bills come quicker, my cycle changes, but the best part....Spring is closer! I wonder how many woman out there are going to propose to man out there and if he will say yes? (old wives tale).

Personally, we will be in church for Wednesday Prayer meeting.

I have a niece that was born on the 29th a few years ago. They actually had hoped she would be born on the day unlike the grandparents were so hoping that wouldn't happen! lol
For me it is pretty much just another day, but most are that way! lol

That is so cool! I don't know why, but it never occurred to me that people could have a birthday that was on a leap year. I wonder how they handle that in situations having to deal with their age. Like graduating from kindergarten to first grade, sweet sixteen, the ability to buy cigarettes at 18, 21 etc...

I feel sad that every leap year so far, I haven't actually done anything interesting to note. Mostly we just made a comment about it at lunch, cheered a few glasses of water, and called it a day. Terrible. I think ultimately we should vote to have Feb 29th turned into a holiday. That would be very worthwhile

I know with my niece they actually celebrate her birthday on the 29th, but on years "other than" leap years they celebrate it on March 1. It seems legally to be her "real birthday". Not sure if different states handle it different or not. Anyone else have a 29th birthday and how is in legally handled in your state?
