Felicia, I know exactly what you mean about not wanting a book to end, and really getting wrapped up in what happens to the characters. I'm the same way.

I just finished reading Every Quilt Tells a Story by Helen Kelley. It was so good and funny too. She was taken in to the Quilter's Hall of Fame last August and died September 1st. I read this on her website. It was so sad. She also made one of the top 100 quilts in the world. She has several books out but my library only had this one.
What a wonderful lady.

Has anyone read "RHETT BUTLER'S PEOPLE"?

And did you like it?
I'm thinking of buying the book as Safeway is selling them for 5.98.

Does it count if I listen??? I have found a wonderful thing called audio books LOL. I seem to be on the road so much that I can still keep up with my wanna read list this way. Anyway currently in the CD player is "The Rana Look" by Sandra Brown. Just needed a real "chic book".

Felicia, I just finished reading The Shack. I really enjoyed it, it was very interesting and thought provoking.

Laurie, I read Rhett Butler's People and I was very disappointed in it...I was really looking forward to reading it, but I had to make myself finish it. My Dd didn't like it either.

I am reading Barefoot by Elin Hilderbrand, light summer reading.

I am reading Knit Two by Kate Jacobs. It's the sequel to The Friday Night Knitting Club. The book is good, but it's been quite a while since I read the first one, so I feel like I've forgotten too much of that story. If you liked the first one, reread it before you read this book.

I just started Saving Alice by David Lewis, have not read anything by him before but the little I read last nite makes me believe I will like this book. Finished reading A Promise for Ellie and really enjoyed it.

Happy reading all and good morning

Paco, Thanks for your input. What didn't you like about it?

I went ahead and bought the book though. I figure I would have paid about the same price if I had got it at the Goodwill. And most times it's a gamble whether or not you might like a book.

I read another Karin Gillespies book called A Dollar Short. It is the second book in the Bottom Dollar series. A lady in my book discussion group liked the first book so much she read the second one and recommended it to me. It is a fun, short summer read. I perfect book to read on vacation.
I picked up Still Alice this weekend at the Library. I hope I can find some time to read it soon.
