For Better Or For Worse Comic Strip

Does anyone else follow this comic?

I just love this comic--I've read it from day one, in 1979.

The author is semi-retiring and will start up the story line over again, but sometimes with new art. Should be interesting!

I am feeling happy that Elizabeth and Anthony got married this weekend, but sad about Grandpa. Does anyone else have a bad feeling about him?

Today was the last day for the comic; next begins the "new/old" version. I read that some papers will not carry it, but you can read it online.

I couldn't believe that she left us hanging!!!

But today's comic was a real class act--as has been the case with this strip all along. I am so impressed with Johnston's work.

I love love love this comic. If I am in a hurry I'll read it and the Pickles and then go aboutmy business. I've enjoyed watching April grow up. When it started in our paper The mom was pregnant with her. And I'm glad that Grandpa Jim lived a few more years.

Barbszy, I love For Better or Worse too. i have been reading it for years but can't remember when I started. Did you get the last strip where Johnston's tied everything up

Grampa lived to see Elizabeth and Anthony's first child (a boy) and died at 89 with Iris by his side
April became a veterinarian and worked with horses
Michael published 4 books and sold the movie rights to one and continued working with Weed
Michael's wife Deanna continued to work as a pharmacist then started her own sewing school
the parents traveled, spent time with the grandchildren, did volunteer work etc.

I am so glad she let us know how everything turned out.

So now she is starting over at the beginning. Is she reusing the comic stip from the beginning or is she drawing new ones as well? I know I didn't start reading the strip from when Michael and Elizabeth were so young so all of it is new to me and I wouldn't know the difference.

chuckle Another fan!

I'm also a fan of this comic strip! I don't think that I read it until we moved to California (15 years ago). I was shocked when I read the "final" strip and read that Lynn was going to re-create some earlier storylines. I hope it turns out okay. I was really looking forward to seeing Elizabeth and Anthony have children (would Warren ever try to come back in Liz's life?), watch April go to college, follow Michael,Dee,Elly and her hubby. Boy, after reading what I just wrote, it sounds like a soap opera (and I hate those things on tv!)! Oh well, I'll follow the "new" strip and see if I like it!

Sue, I was hoping to see the strip continue too. I wanted to see April graduate high school and go on to college, Elizabeth have her first child, Michael and Dee raise their children, etc. Oh well. It does sort of sound like a soap opera but when you think of all the funny things that happened too at least it wasn't all drama. Isn't it funny how we can get attached to a comic strip. I know my dd was upset when Calvin & Hobbs ended

I love this strip too. And I also wanted to see the strip continue.
I don't care for going back to the beginning. I'll still read it but so far I'm not enjoying it like I was.

Sharon, I agree with you, I wished it had continued. I am finding it a bit boring starting back at the beginning, at least the story line so far.

I love this strip too! It's one of the 2 strips I read each day.

I don't know when I started reading it, but I don't remember seeing Michael and Elisabeth as young children.
So far the strips are okay, but we'll see.

Same here but I forget what happened with Elizabeth that she then had to consider Anthony, and I liked Anthony from the beginning, such drama!

I read about Johnston in the newspaper a bit ago, they were talking about how she handled tough topics in a comic strip like breast cancer, I think she has a good sense of balance in life

I missed Calvin and Hobbes too

For me it is Peanuts that I miss the most
