American made products

I don't know about everyone else but I'm tired of buying stuff from china, etc...
I was wondering if we could start a thread of what we buy that is ONLY American made? I am wanting to try harder to make sure what I buy is made in America but it takes a lot of time.

It is often difficult to find American-made alternatives! Please share any resources you may find. I, too, would rather support American workers and keep jobs in this country.

Sun Burst laundry detergent & Xtra laundry detergent are both American made.
Also Pup Corn is American made. It's treats for dogs.
Softsoap American made.
I've noticed that the cheaper stuff are more likely made outside of the USA. That habit is going to be hard to break. I'm always buying the cheaper brand to try to save money.

I just read that we Canadians are soon going to be able to decipher what food products are actually Canadian. It is about time. It is scary when you think you are buying a Canadian Pacific ocean salmon or fish and it turns out that it actually came from Asia. The reason they can say it is a Canadian product is that the cost of manufacturing or packaging must be 51% or more to be labelled Canadian. A news program showed an Asian farmer pesticiding his crops on the side of a hill and at the bottom was a shrimp farm. We buy those shrimp. Scary.

I use Xtra & Softsoap. Glad to hear that they are American made. The problem is that some materials are made here but assembled elsewhere(cheaper labor). I would like to support American made for the jobs & the safety factor. I am interested in learning about more companies so I will watch this post.

Yep just as hard to find stuff made in Australia.
They say it's because of free trade agreements world wide, to ship stuff out we have to take stuff in.

Another of our long time companies that has been Australian owned has now been bought by an American company actually a lot of them have.

I was in our local vacuum cleaner/sewing machine store yesterday and the owner had some very good points to make on this. He has been waiting for parts for a China made sewing machine for a year. Another sewing machine came in, six months old a brand that starts with a J, the moter is shot. This machine cost around $500. He also said, if we do go to war with China, we are in trouble, since we have most of our parts made overseas.
