Growing A Herb Garden All Year Round

A sunny window getting at least 4 or 5 hours of direct light will make a great window garden. You will be able to pinch enough for your favorite spaghetti sauce or pesto.

If you have room to make a herb garden outdoors you will be greatly rewarded.

I love making tea from the herbs. They are used for medicinal uses to treat alot of ailments.

Since ancient times basil has been used to treat diabetes, asthma, heart problems, inflammatory diseases and respiratory ailments.

Some herbs grow better, or should be grown in poor soil so they can have a stronger flavor. The oil in herbs make them special. Very fast growing herbs grow before they can produce their essential oils.

How many of you grow herbs at your home?
What kind do you grow?

I have an herb garden. I grow basil, italian and greek oregano, dill, sage, pineapple sage, thyme, rosemary, parsley, stevia ( sugar plant or sweet herb), and fennel then I have a few kinds of mint planted seperately. All of these can be grown in containers as well.

IN my weather similar to yours I think Sueanne I can pretty much grow things all year round.
Always have herbs of some sort (parsley and shallots are a must) and other veg that change all the time.
