Whatcha' doing for Thanksgiving?

Man, I am thinking, didn't we just have Thanksgiving?!!!
Seems like just last month I put the Christmas tree away!
Remember when we were kids and summer vacation lasted forever and Halloween and Christmas took forever to arrive!! And Christmas was a long, long time after trick or treating! LOL!!

Mom and I are sharing the cooking this year. She will make the turkey, dressing and gravy. I am doing the mashed potatoes, vegies, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoe casserole, fruit salad, bread and pies.
Even though it's only four of us we still make a huge meal because we like the leftovers!!!!
Nothing is better than a turkey, cranberry and stuffing sandwich on good old wonder bread!!!!!!

Even Tricky and Keema will get a little plate of turkey and gravy!!

Anyone trying a new recipe or do you stick to a traditional meal like we do?

Dad will make his usual philly cream cheese dip and chips! It's a tradition to have that while watching the Macy's Thanksgiving parade! Not sure if we are eating at our house or theirs yet. Last year we had a Santa Ana windstorm on Thanksgiving and mom and I sat in the back of the truck watching all the leaves fall of the trees! (We were at our house and their are tons of trees at the park so It was cool to watch, looked like a rainshower of leaves!!!!)

Our church is having a dinner for people who are homeless next Tuesday and I plan on volunteering there.

hugs, train

I always have my side of the family on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. It helps the married nieces and nephews have less places to choose between on the same day. There will be around 25-30 people. I make the Turkey, dressing, potatoes and gravey. They bring the rest.
On Thanksgiving Day it will probably be just our family and we will probably have homemade soup since we will have had turkey already.
Leftovers---Love them!!!
My favorite thing to eat is pumpkin pie with whole cranberry sauce and whip cream.

I'm cooking for five this year, only our family. I always make a lot too, just for the leftovers. We are having a 17 lb. turkey and the next day we'll have turkey sandwiches on onion rolls. Plus I'll freeze some of the turkey for soup. I always make the standard dishes, along with green beans with bacon and macaroni and cheese. Dessert will be pumpkin pie and pecan pie. Can't wait!
