Margaret did you get your little Elvis yet?? I can't wait to see a picture of him. I am looking for a female little puppy, under 10 lbs for my dog Zippy. He needs a wife! LOL
Lita, they stopped using vinyl chloride in 1973 and supposidly phased it out of stock by 1974. I do use some areosol cans. So let's just hope that what ever it is they put in them now, is not going to give me or anyone else cancer later in life. There were so many products listed that I remember my parents using. It was horrifying. However it seems you have to have prolonged use and bad ventilation. Many hair stylists have this cancer. I would have gone on the rest of my life ignorant of this had it not happened to someone I love so much.
PS Happy Birthday to the birthday girls!!

Happy Birthday, Theresa & Cathy!

Theresa, I can think of a lot of things to buy w/ $500. Lucky you! We bought a new digital camera a couple of weeks ago. It's wonderful. It takes the clearest pics. It's pretty cool because you can also record videos w/ sound on it.

Fish, I'm so sorry about your FIL. I hope the treatments help and that he isn't in pain. He & your family are in my prayers.

Ohhh, my girls are arguing again so I'd better stop typing and go referee. They usually play so nicely together, I think the heat is getting to them. I'm going to go set up the sprinkler for them and let them cool off & get some energy out. I'm ready for school to start!

Have a great day!

Happy Birthday Theresa & Cathy
Hope you both enjoy your big days!
Theresa --What a thoughtfull DH. Make sure you buy something fun for yourself too. Glad to hear the neighbor problem has calmed down for the time being.
DeBora--Hope Poncho is OK and nothing is seriously wrong.
Sharon--I am so glad Buck is OK and was in the right place at the right time.
Felicia--I will be thinking of you as you deal with your FIL's illness. Scary what is all out there causing problems and we don't even know it.
Margaret --Good Luck with your new pal. I hope you and Elvis get along well together.
I was a so so Elvis fan, but I remember very well were I was when I hear he had died. I was driving my 64 Rambler home for the weekend from college. Guess I am just few years older than you DeBora. I did watch Love Me Tender last Saturday afternoon. It was a rainy day and I love watching old movies on rainy days.
Well back to work. Have a Great Day everyone.

I just found out that the Space Shuttle will be taking off shortly.

Margaret, do you have your camera ready? It is less than an hour away.

I'll be back later. I just wanted to remind everyone. I am waiting for Poncho to come home with the prognosis.

The Shuttle blast-off was great!

Poncho has one small bladder or kidney stone. DH ran him home on the way to work, so we couldn't chat much. He said it is small and we have a good chance of disolving it through a diet and anti-biotics. Poncho is starving since he hasn't eaten today, but he refuses to eat the new diet food. lol Oh well, I am working on some type of homemade diet plan, if there is one.

Two more nights with the GKs. Days are great, but nights are still terrible since Papa spoils them. The youngest cannot be reasoned with. DGS and I went to pet the horses near my house while his sister was at Day Camp.

When I picked DGD up I asked her about her day. She said, "This stupid boy hit me in the head." I looked at her in the rear view mirror and she had this bashful smile on her face. So, I inquired more. She said they were playing. I got the impression it was either playing or flirting. lol I was glad she was smiling when she said it. lol Yesterday she came home with chocolate all over her face and today she had sucker all over her face. lol This is evidence that she is having fun.

Alrighty then! Here I am all ready to post and lol I missed some exciting birthday wishes!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE LOVELY THERESA AND CATHY!!! Hope your days were special for you in some way, measure, or form.

Theresa, $500, now that is AWESOME!!! Sounds like you've got a great guy! I hope all goes well with your dh when he sees the specialist.

Sorry for the error on my part DeBora. It is Poncho that you are concerned about and I said Bonte. I gotta get the pet names straight. Lol, I'm worse with one of our kitties whose given name is Sugar but I keep calling her Gracie for some reason. Anyway, let us know what the results from the Vet is like. I hope all goes well.

Felicia, you offer some very valuable info and because it's here on this thread it is not at all boring. Thanks for that. I hope that your FIL's treatments go well for him and all the concerns are manageable.

Connie, congrats on renewing your vows. Where will you hold the special occasion? My friend did one at her church and just invited her close friends/family.

Margaret, it sounds like Elvis will be a good dog and you will have more support too. We shall patiently await his pictures then. I am going to be the first in line for an autograph okay? LOL! Hugs to you. I think it will be a good thing.

Okay, now If I have missed anyone, please do not call me and sorry but I will not be able to call you either. Just post a smiley beside my name like this one or this one or a real nice one like this one and I will definitely get the message. LOL!

Just one more thing before I go:
I got a good scare late last night when my dh told me an insurance guy was coming to inspect our home for a fire insurance policy my dh wanted to purchase from thembecause our Mortgage Lenders wanted us to have one! Long story short I called our Mortgage Company and all they needed was an update of our former insurance policy (that already had fire coverage, lol). I was so relieved! Dh wanted to take care of things on his own and not add to my burden and stress, but this actually made me almost have a cow, a fit, a storm, and I almost turned into a monster !! We have agreed and divided the responsibilities concerning paying bills to him, while I deal with the correspondences and acount updates, etc. and I understood that I had things well in place, but somehow there was a misunderstanding here (don't we love this when it happens???ha ha ha). I told him that although he holds responsbility I can still be a great assistant and would like to be informed about what is going on (in his head, lol) before some guy comes to my house for something I know nothing about. LOL!!! And I kidded around about how horrible the man's experience would have been, since I am pretty strict about who enters our premises and he would have been subjected to twenty-million questions, not to mention my trusty old !!

Now for the good news! I got an amazing grade for my first paper and I am still awe-struck! I got a perfect 10, yeah on the paper, not on my figure okay.... that's not good thinking...LOL!

Okay, I promised that I would be done with this post. And I hope that this here post finds you all well and well-behaved! Ha!

Lita, congrats on the excellant grade on your paper. I know how much work they can be. One semester, I had 6 papers to write, each requiring between 3,500-4,500 words. One lady said she wished we didn't have to write so many papers (she was an English major). I asked if she would rather us take a lot of exams? (This was a forestry class designed to broaden our horizons and required for the degree.) She didn't think if it that way. lol

Theresa, I am so glad that you had such a terrific birthday!

Remember the neighbor who moved out the day after the bad people she let live with her stole her blind? Well, she did leave as I saw the moving van. But, the bad people she let live there are back! I called the company that runs this place and asked them if someone is supposed to be living there since a car was backed up to the house. They said yes. My other good neighbor called the owner and he said that they weren't on the lease, which we knew. The lady that moved said she was out of there and she didn't care what those other people did. I don't think she realizes that by her name being the only one on the lease,SHE is responsible for what they do in her name! Oh well. The good neighbor said that the owner wanted him to call the police and tell them that they were there. I refused and I agree with him since it isn't our business that people are staying there without having a contract with the owner. I don't care as long as they keep quiet. I sent my digital recorder over to my good neighbor's house in case they bump up the sound tonight. He was glad that I know the judge in case this becomes an issue. They are partying tonight outside, but after the good neighbor came out and looked at them, they turned it down. So, we'll see. I know the lady had a deadline to be out and she isn't paying rent. I doubt it will be long before they are evicted.
