Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Anybody planning to buy this book? I will be at Barnes & Noble with DD's to get it at midnight when it becomes available. We have had it pre-ordered for several months now.

This will be bittersweet for our family. The first Harry Potter book is what got DD1 to finally get into reading when she was in 4th grade. By then, the third book was out, and she read the first three books in about two weeks. (Remember, up to this point, she rarely read!)

DD1 and DD2 have both read all of the books numerous times. DH has read all of them, but I've only read the first four. I'll probably read the fifth and sixth over the next couple of weeks so I can read the last one.

We have also seen all of the movies on opening day. DD1 has already seen the latest one twice. I prefer the books to the movies, but they are fun, too.

I hope Harry doesn't get killed. J.K. Rowling wouldn't do that to us, would she?

Kathy

I love the Harry Potter series. I prebought mine on B&N online. Can't wait to read it when it gets here.

I ordered my copy of the new Harry Potter book through Amazon to avoid the crowds. My dd works at Border's and they are having a huge party there tonight in honor of the release and sale of the book and she has to work till 2 a.m. It is going to be a fun night.

We got our two copies (one for each DD) at about 12:45 a.m. this morning. DD's stayed up until about 3:00 reading and are back at it right now. The house is so quiet!

DH is waiting for one of them to finish so he can read it. I have only read the first four at this point so I can wait. I think I'll begin the fifth one today.

I got mine in the mail today. I can't wait to read it. I love Harry Potter, it's very well written. I wish I could write that good. I hope she starts another series of something else. She's a great writer.

I went to the local Walmart this morning and on the table there were all the new books you could want, no crowds at all. Then we drove 70 miles to the mall and Petsmart to get dog food and went to Books a Million and no crowds there either, but several people that I saw checking out had the book.
I had all the books at home but the first 3 so I bought them there. If I had known that they would have had the new one there, and not sold out I could have saved money. I saved 10 percent on the other books with their savings card.

Most ppl preordered the book... like me and went to midnight parties to get it first. So I imagine that there wouldn't be a lot of lines. I think that the media just likes to make it a little more crazy than it really is. Mine was delivered right to my doorstep today! I got mine at B&N with my membership discount.
Awesome
