Pet Food Recall

For all you animal lovers, I just read that there is a recall on pet food -- there have been 10 animals to die so far and it affects:

Menu Foods, a Canadian company based outside Toronto that produces pet food, said Saturday it was recalling dog food sold throughout North America under 50 brands and cat food sold under 40 brands including Iams, Nutro and Eukanuba. The food was distributed by major retailers such as Wal-Mart, Kroger and Safeway.

Thought would like to know -- here is the article I read. I hope none of yall are affected by this.

this is so sad!!...luckily we do not have any of the products listed...we use only dry food for the most part and a higher quality one sold at the vets that is not listed. I wonder if the company will be liable for all the vet bills this as occured. I have heard stories of animals who have lived but now have kidney problems

Hugs Debbie

Thanks for the link, I surely will be reading it for I had heard just part of it but not all of it. With cats and dogs I was concern plus I have bought things at Walmarts so this will help to read up on.

Thanks for the information. DH and I have been talking about how long this could have been going on? My Jet-Bo passed away in October with kidney failure. But, he was diagnosed in the fall of 2005. He was immediately put on a special prescription diet and lived another year and several months. But, the other dog doesn't seem to be affected. I doubt that it did affect him, but it sure makes me want to make my own dog food as I don't know who to trust now.
