Tooth fairy ?

My ds lost a baby tooth today. First off the tooth fairy in our house is always forgetting to leave the money and we've gotten complaints about that, but we are trying really hard to remember. How much money do you/did you leave your kids? We've been leaving 50 cents. Curious the going rate on tooth fairies.

The tooth fairy leaves $.50 here as well but pays $1 if the dentist had to pull the tooth.

Sometimes the money has fallen onto the floor and under the bed (wink) and wasn't really forgotten. Daddy just had to help look for it.

we were giving our children $.50 for molars and $.25 for all other teeth until my mil stepped in. She gives the child who looses the tooth $1.00 only if they call her the day it comes out and $.50 to all the siblings. Sorry we only give $1.00 to the child that lost the tooth. Thanks to my mil. She felt we were under paying for teeth.

Where was she when I was loosing teeth???

For my nephew I leave him a $1 and then I get him to put it in his piggy bank.

We left $1. I remember forgetting to put it under the pillow and saying it must've fallen from under there. LOL. I think I got a dime when I was loosing teeth.

Our tooth fairy only ever left 50 cents never more never less. A couple of times the "fairy" forgot and I told them I'd hand over the 50c until the fairy covered it the next night, that seemed to work.
It always went into a little dish and was left on the childs desk or bedhead. It seemed to hard to leave under pillow as the kids moved and probably played with it so wasn't always in the same place it was left.

Years ago when my daughter was little I made her a tooth fairy pillow with a little pocket on the back. I think the going rate then was 25cents & a pack of sugar free gum.

She loved the pillow and kept on her bed all the time so I had to pay attention if there was a tooth or not.

We also used the pillow for the splinter fairy. DD was always getting splinters & of course they were often difficult to get so I bought one of those little magnifying boxes that kids collect things (bugs, I think). When I got the splinter out, we would put it in the box and praise her for being so brave and put it in the pillow pocket & the tooth fairy's sister, the splinter fairy would come.

Thanks for reminding me of those days.

Pippe
