I agree.. This sure is a nice place to stop by.
May be orangefield is not so wrong after all, it just seems like I pick up after the kids (and the DH) all day when I am home. So I guess you could say we clean all day! lol.
Even as I cook, watch TV, garden, read, talk to friends I am unconciously putting things away these days. Of course if I didn't do that, we end up with a war zone looking room in seconds! What with 2 kids and a constant flow of friends (the kids and mine)...

chuckle Lol! And I just came from the Creativity thread!

My apartment looks very creative right now! Tidy it is not, but creative yes! LOL!
I just finished cleaning the kitchen floor and of course it's a small kitchen floor but I hate it when it gets sticky or there are crumbs on the floor...from the kids, etc...
I have a lot of books and they are out around the living room right now. I am also going crazy trying to find my grandfather's picture of himself and I cannot find it. I have let some things go and I know I have to get on them sooon! Maybe when I can get the kids out with someone and I am able to clean them messing things or forgetting things out at the same time.
Okay then, that's enouff info on me...

My dd1 and I worked on the girls bedroom this week and put all the clutter away. Found all the missing socks LOL. I need to finish organizing my home office which is my goal for the up coming week to get back to it and finish.

When cleaning your house what is the last room that you work on? Mine is my bedroom, I start in the kitchen. Next is the livingroom and the diningroom. Bathrooms, the kids do most of the work in their rooms, I just finish for them.

Have a nice day.

Melly

DH's Den and the tools area in the garage are the 2 areas I am prohibited from because apparently he has a method to his madness and when I organise things he can't find them !
But it finally got so bad that he started asking my help to find things in the garage.
I took the chance and cleaned out the tools area and he was really happy about it!

Im the same way Melly, our bedroom is the last room I get to when cleaning and also the most cluttered which I know is bad, according to Oprah, lol, your bedroom should be your "solitude" and meditating room, with no tv or stereo. Well our tv is in here,I have a compact "boom" box in the bath adjacent to our bedroom, and my pc is in here!!Oprah wouldnt like that!!I have to say at the end of the weekend(most times) dh's side of the room is the most cluttered. I just got done "de-cluttering his side again!!

I would love to have one of those "sanctuary" bedrooms....but I have a husband
Our bedroom looks like it is occupied by Felix and Oscar. Not that I am AS NEAT as Felix by any means, but compared to DH my end of things is immaculate! I have a dresser, nightstand and our small bookcase and I keep those neat. I've been working hard to keep my dresser top free of clutter.
DH's side of the room looks like a bomb went off. All his school books for 4 semesters, 2 different vintage video game systems, a few old Palm Pilots, and miscellaneous things the kids left behind--most notably a wiffle ball bat

I am good at keeping up with laundry as far as sort, wash, dry and fold. It's the "put away" where I lose it. Once or twice a week I assign my 13 year old to deliver everyone's basket of clean clothes to their room. Then I have no baskets for the clean things so I have to put the stuff away.

I too feel like I am spinning my wheels a lot just keeping up with what everyone scatters around the house in places where it doesn't belong.

FlyLady was more email than I could handle so I signed up for this one:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MotivatedMom/

I get ONE email a day and I make a daily list on a card that I can carry in my pocket. I love to check off what I've gotten done!

I am a shoe wearer but they don't have to be lace-ups. I do not take off my shoes. Good thing too, because last night I went down to get my clean pajamas from the laundry room, and stepped in 1/2 inch of water--the utility sink where the washer drains had gotten stopped up with a stray dryer sheet and the washer flooded the room. But my feet stayed dry!

I'll have to check out that link Barb...I'm getting a little overwhelmed by all the emails myself but like that it is reminding me to get stuff done...

My kitchen sink overflowed last night but that's because I started to fill it up to do some dishes and got sidetracked on the computer....and I thought I was perfect
