I don't think Levi's ever really went out of style or became unpopular. They're just way to expensive for me to buy for myself. My son-in-law only feels comfortable in Levi's though so I try to get him at least one pair for Christmas or his BD. We're supposed to be selling Levi's at Walmart now but I haven't found any men's Levi jeans, just women's and jackets.
Take care all,

I had forgotten they were no longer made in the US. That is too bad. Also, here in Texas they have never gone out of style. My dh will wear no other jean aside from the 501. I loved them when I was younger, but they don't go too well with my plump figure these days. They are usually a bit expensive, but pretty durable. If you are not going to change sizes then I would consider it a "long term" investment. You can also catch a good sale or find them at a resale shop like Goodwill. The Levi's signature at Wmart are not quite the same. I don't think they have the v on the pocket & they are the more current styles, not the good old 501, 505, 550, etc. I don't know if they will be as durable either. My dh didn't find anything in 36 lenght either.

I agree about the Wal-mart styles. They are Levis but without the signature Levi tag on the back pocket or the stitching. Levis are definitely a good investment - I wear them all the time and am tough on my jeans but they seem to last forever which is good considering I can't afford to replace them often!

Hi! I hit the great sale at Penney's too! My H will ONLY wear Levi's and yes.here in Washington state they have never gone out of style what so ever. They are my choice of jeans too...but women have so much more choices than men.....but Levis are still the best!
I buy the "517"'s.........LOve them but they are hard to find. So I have to buy 2 or 3 pairs when I do find them and hope to goodness I stay the same size! LOL!

I also get alot of Levis at Goodwill......lots of Levi jean shorts too. I always have to stop and check out there.....my fav store!

Have a great New Years!

Levis and walmart brand are the only ones that are flattering on my butt. Levis sure do last a bit longer-hard to find the length that dh and I both need though.

I had to go back and look at the tag on my jeans to see what number they were. They are the 512 ones with the tag. Originally they were $39.95 but I managed to get them for much less.

I am tired of dishing out $150 on designer jeans. It would be great to get back in a pair of Levis.

I find that Sears and Mervyns has the best sales.(Around my area anyways!) it does take a bit of time to find your "first pair"..so many diff styles but you will love them once you find your pair.

Talk sound my friend!.............Nancy

PS..Hubby has informed me that we are going to come a visiting your area cuz he wants to go back and see the sites that he missed! So could be this summer I am sure!
