Some things I remember...and smile...

*Fizzies
*"OH, I wish I were an Oscar Meyer weiner" (the song,AND the cute little boy)
*Sunny Jim peanut butter
*Bobby socks with lace around the edges
*When I earned 7 cents allowance for helping mom dust and picking dandylions (2) whole grocery bags full!
*When Mom and I wore our "Sunday best"..that included gloves and hats. when we got home, I changed into my "play clothes"
*Easter bonnets
*Rubber boots that pulled on over your shoes, yellow slicker raincoats.
*Davey Jones was my pick...I was in the 5th grade.
*Sundays were for church and family, no stores were open
*Ed Sullivan-mom let my brother and I stay up to see "Toro Jejo", then off to bed.
* Ted Mack Amater hour
* Bob Hope
* Remember the singing gasoline service men (Chevron?) on the commercials that were dressed in uniforms?

WOW.....
Hope that puts some smiles on your faces as it did mine.

I remember taking a milk can to the dairy for the milk.
Not having a refrigerator - the iceman called twice a week with big blocks of ice.
No hot water services, just a little heater over the sink.
Only wood fires to heat the room - no central heating.
Taking a hot water bottle to bed, no electric blankets.
But then, I was born in 1927!!
Can remember things that happened in 1930!
The Beetles first coming to Melbourne.
Memories are very precious.
This weekend it is 57 years since I married for the first time! Love Marj

Trekmom...those one pc. gym uniforms, ours had puffy legs with elastic around them...Yuck!!!

Goodness I got on the puter and came here and got wrapped up in reading the WHOLE thread over and guess what ,I am out of time ,LOL, but I sure had fun.
Bell bottoms and I mean bell...they were ruffed and layered bells and very big.LOL
Mini skirts and gogo boots... oh to be that small again!LOL
The Riffleman and almost all of the shows listed ,I miss them all . We don't have cable or a Satilite to catch some of the old stuff on.
Bonansa(sp) I was in love with Adam and my hubby looked a little like him and when he got older and was on mash my dh got older and still looked a little like him ...cool beans!
The day JFK got murdered they brought a old black and white t.v. into the room at school and we watch the events. It was horrible even for a fourth grader.

I remember watching the first landing on the moon.
I remember the baker coming with the bread.
Also the butcher calling for the order and two days later delivering the meat.
A penny to spend on Saturday and taking 1/2 an hour to decide what to buy. The shopkeepers were so patient - 40 acid drops for 1d. - 20 pink and 20 white!! What a treat!!
