Making holiday flowers last longer

To help your plants stay fresh during the holidays, coat them with hairspray. Lift the bouquet from the vase and spray a coat on the underside of leaves and petals from 12 inches away. Let the spray set, then return to vase. The hairspray's hardening film will seal in freshness. Respray every few days to keep flowers perky all season.
