Cast Iron Skillets Care

Using cast iron cookware has its problem keeping rust from forming on the pan. Wash and dry the skillet then wipe with a damp used black tea bag. The tannins in the tea will leave an invisible protective layer on the cast iron, preventing rust causing oxidation.
Very dirty skillets can be filled with hot water with one or two tea bags and left to soak overnight. The tannins will break down grime for easy cleanup.
