Repotting Plants

Hi,

When you repot a plant, put a coffee filter in the pot before you add the potting soil. It keeps the soil from running out but it still lets water drain through. Plus if you drink coffee, you already have them!!

Always repot a plant to a container a little larger than the one it was in. If you cannot add fresh soil on top for nutrients.

Good point, Sueanne, that way your plant has room to grow.

Water House Plants Half As Often!

Use a food processor to grind up to 8 to 12 corks. Mix the pieces in with your topsoil. The air filled corks will absorb excess water and slowly release it as the soil dries out. This will cut your watering time in half.
