Do you have a place for liquid dishwasher detergent or brighteners?

I fill mine with white vinegar and run it through with the dirty dishes and regular powdered detergent. It seems to work on the smells.

You could also try baking soda in the power holder and white vinegar in the liquid holder and run through with no dishes.

Good Luck!

Welcome to Family Corner!!

There is some stuff that they sell specifically to clean your dishwasher. It is sold near the dishwasher detergent and Jet Dry.

You put it in the soap dispenser and run the dish washer through a cycle without any dishes, etc.. in it.

You might try it if Tami's suggestion of the vinegar or baking soda doesn't work.

Does it stink when it's not running? If so, you might try placing a box of baking soda in it overnight or for a few days while keeping it closed....that might help too.

Good Luck!

I used to work for an appliance repair company and we always recommended running the dishwasher empty with a cup of white vinegar poured into the bottom.

If that doesn't help you might need to clean the food trap out and the drain hose check out your owners manuel if you still have it. If not you can try getting the information online from the manufacture on how to get to the food trap.

I agree with RobertaD

Try the baking soda, sprinkle it in the bottom of the dishwasher also put vinegar in the rinse cycle.

I made the mistake of heating fragrance soap in my microwave, couldn't get the smell out and the food tasted like fragrance oil. put a box of baking soda in over night and the smell is gone.
